Cellular Based Digital Signage with DSN3G.com

It has been a while since we lasted posted to this blog. As a matter of fact since December of last year. DSN3G.com and Digi-AdServices.com have been undergoing some changes and upgrades which have resulted in bringing a superior cellular based digital signage system to the table.

Cellular based digital signage makes life so much easier. Our parent company is in the process of starting a network upgrade and when I look at all that is involved in maintaining and upgrading that network, then I look at the simplicity of a cellular based digital sign, it makes me realize just what a great system it is to use.

When deploying a network of cellular digital signs the only thing that needs to be present is a standard power outlet. No cable runs, no LAN routers, no wireless routers and best of all no IT person who is always hovering over anything that is connected to the network.

Simplicity at its best.................... that is what I like the most about cellular based digital signage.

Milk Shakes in Winter

Milk Shakes in Winter

We have recently been testing our cellular based signage system in a well known national restaurant chain and have seen some great results. There has been an increase in sales of the items being displayed on our 42" monitor and all in all it appears to be having a positive impact.

One item of interest that we have found to be interesting is the fact that Milk Shake sales are up in November. How good is that? When the temperature outside is hovering around 20 to 30 degrees, people are ordering Milk Shakes at a rate much higher than before.

Who says digital signage doesn't influence people?

Digital Signage and the 2012 Election

A lot of money has been spent on this years presidential election race. Some estimate as much as 1 billion dollars combined has been spent to get your vote. Another report suggests that the digital signage industry will double over the next five years.

I wonder if digital signage will have an impact on our next election and what advances in digital signage will make it an important media outlet for those campaigning for office. Visual messages are the most powerful way to get an idea across, whether it is true of false. The old saying that a picture speaks a thousand words is true. Will the digital signage landscape be so broad by 2012 that it can compete with other media outlets for election advertising? Imagine a world with candidates faces and messages everywhere. You leave your home and you think you have a break from the constant bombardment of election commercials and then all of a sudden you are faced with a 110 inch high def image of the next candidate hanging from the ceiling in the mall.

Then again, political advertising on digital signage while possibly effective in the future, could backfire on a candidate due to media overload. Another question is since most if not all digital signage networks are privately owned will we see a situation where one major digital signage network endorses one candidate over another and refuses to run an opponents ads? Will that open up that digital signage company to legal challenges?

I am betting that although the digital signage landscape may be doubled in 2012 I doubt we will see much digital signage based political ads.

What do you think???
